  • Finding Products

    Browsing - You can find products by browsing the categories shown in the navigation bar at the top of your screen (Gambling Books, Guides & Guide Books, Esoterica, and Sale Items). When you click on one of the four main categories, a navigation bar showing the sub-categories will appear (Esoterica, for example, is broken down into Biography, History, Fiction, Story Collections & Odds & Ends). Each category page shows 8 products at a time. If there are more than 8 products in a category, 'Next' and 'Previous' arrows appear which you can click on to view more products. Each category page can also be viewed in either 'Cover View' (which shows only the product covers, and takes up less room) or 'List View' (which lists more information, but also takes up more room). You can easily switch between these two views by clicking 'Change to List View' or 'Change to Cover View' at the bottom of the category page.

    Searching - You can quickly search for products by typing a key word (or words) in the search box to the left and clicking the 'GO!' button. This will search all item names, authors, publishers and descriptions for the text you entered. If you want a more specific search, go to the advanced search page page, where you can also specify categories, media types, and authors.

    More Information - Once you find a product you are interested in, you can click on its picture (or on the 'More Info' link next to it) to view detailed product information, including a larger picture, description, technical information, additional pictures (if available), related categories, and related products. From the product detail page you can also click on the name of the author for a complete list of products by that author, as well as biographical information, if available.

  • Using Your Shopping Cart

    Adding Items - When you find an item you want to purchase, click on the "add to cart" button or text link next to the item. You will see the item appear in your shopping cart on the left side of your screen, under the "search" box. You can add as many items to your cart as you want (with the exception that you can only add one Las Vegas Advisor membership at a time, as explained below).

    Changing / Removing Items - If you want to view the items in your cart in more detail, or want to change quantities or remove items, click on the "view cart" button on the left (under your shopping cart) to go to the View Cart page. While viewing your cart, you can change the quantity of any item, or remove an item by setting its quantity to zero.

    Checking Out - When you are ready to purchase your items, go to the View Cart page and click on "Check Out". During checkout you will be prompted for your shipping and billing address, payment method, and any other information needed to process your order.

    Cookies - If your shopping cart does not work, make sure your web browser has cookies turned on. In Internet Explorer, go to Internet Options, and check the "Security" tab. In Netscape, check your Advanced Preferences. The cart will not work if cookies are turned off.

  • LVA Memberships

    New Members - By adding a Full or one-year Online Las Vegas Advisor membership to your cart, you will instantly qualify for discounts on many ShopLVA products. During the checkout process, you will be asked for additional information to set up your account (username, password, etc.).

    Purchasing Multiple Memberships - Because we need this extra information for each account, you can only purchase one Las Vegas Advisor membership at a time. If you wish to purchase multiple memberships, you will have to completely check out, then select a new membership and check out again. Don't worry, there is no shipping charge on LVA Memberships, so while checking out twice will take a few additional minutes of your time, it won't cost you anything extra. Also, be aware that because of the value of the Las Vegas Advisor Pocketbook of Values coupon book, a maximum of two memberships is permitted per household.

    Current Members - If you are already a Las Vegas Advisor member, you can sign in to instantly qualify for member discounts, and to have ShopLVA remember a previous shopping session. You can log in either by going to the View Cart page, or by clicking here.

    Logging Out - Normally, once you have logged in, your computer will automatically remember who you are for future visits. If other people will be using this computer, and you do not want us to remember your information, simply go to the View Cart page and click on "Log Out." You can always log back in from this or another computer later to restore your settings.

  • Security

    Encryption - We take security very seriously at ShopLVA. During checkout, we use industry standard SSL encryption from RSA Data Security and Verisign to encrypt your credit card information when you order.

    Credit Card Information - Your credit card information is only stored for a few minutes, while our site is processing your order. After that, it is automatically discarded, and only the last four digits of your card are recorded for reference. This is something even most major e-commerce sites do not do (though in our opinion, they should). As a side effect, under very rare circumstances, if you have placed an order and we have to issue you a partial credit for that order, we may have to contact you by phone. (You should NEVER send credit card information by email.) We understand this is a minor annoyance, but we feel the increased security is worth it.

    Personal Information - When you buy from ShopLVA, your name remains confidential; we never rent, trade, or sell our lists. You will never receive unwanted e-mail as a result of purchasing from ShopLVA.

  • Product Return/Exchange Policy

    At Huntington Press, we stand behind the products we sell 100%. We guarantee that you will be satisfied with your purchase. If you are not satisfied with any part of your order you may return or exchange any non-software item within 30 days of the original purchase for a full refund (software is exchangeable for same product only).   • Errors During Checkout?

    Very rarely, you may encounter an error while viewing your shopping cart or during the checkout process. If this happens, please email us the entire error message you receive, so we can diagnose and fix the problem. (Just copy and paste it into an email - don't worry if the formatting gets messed up.) Then, try checking out again. If you receive the same error a second time, return to this page and click here to clear all your settings. Clearing your settings will empty your shopping cart and forget your address information, and should only be used as a last resort, but it will fix 99% of all checkout problems.If that still doesnt help you can delete our cookies. Here is how: On Internet Exporer browser, click on tools, click Internet Options, click Delete Cookies Now you can try to go to the site again.
